Another WWE Hall Of Famer Joins The Mae Young Classic Announce Team
Alundra Blayze is on the squad for WWE's female tournament...
Alundra Blayze was announced as the latest addition to the Mae Young Classic announce team by Jim Ross during an episode of The Ross Report.
The 32-woman tournament will be previewed by a special 'Parade Of Champions' event on WWE's Facebook page and official YouTube channel. The actual tournament itself starts airing on the WWE Network beginning August 28 despite tapings starting this Thursday and Friday.
WWE Hall Of Famers Jim Ross and Amy 'Lita' Dumas had previously been revealed as the announce team for the series. Now, they're being joined by Blayze, who was also inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2015. That means a star-studded trio of WWE Hall Of Fame inductees will be at ringside to call the action.
Former 3-time WWF Women's Champion Blayze hinted at her involvement in the Mae Young Classic via her Instagram page earlier this week, but it wasn't until JR spilled the news on his podcast that her announce duties were revealed.
Also known as Medusa, Blayze was a WCW Cruiserweight Champion and held titles in the AWA and All Japan Pro Wrestling during her career. There's no doubt her vast experience in women's wrestling adds further credibility to the tournament.
