Should top WWE star Roman Reigns be a modern day version of The Undertaker?!
ESPN host Joe Fortenbaugh reckons Roman Reigns would benefit from becoming a modern day version of The Undertaker. No, Joe isn't suggesting that the 'OTC' quit ruling The Bloodline, reach for a trench coat and start shooting lightning from his fingertips. Nor is he implying that Roman should start telling opponents to "Rest In Peace" before challenging them to casket matches on PLE.
The ESPN anchor told Denise Salcedo that Reigns must continue doing "everything 3 steps slower than he needs to", because "that dramatic effect really works well for him". For example, Roman's entrance is one of the most drawn out things one can see on WWE television.
Whenever he appears, you just know he's going to take around 5 minutes (at least) to amble down to the ring and pause before talking or wrestling. Stylistically, that isn't for everyone these days, probably because viewers are always looking ahead to what's coming next. Patience is at a premium in the TikTok era, put it that way!
Fortenbaugh doesn't think Reigns should ever bow to that pressure for speed, because doing things at a slower tempo helps him stand out from everybody else on the roster. It's something Joe thinks the 'Tribal Chief' should continue borrowing from 'Taker - nobody told 'The Deadman' to hurry it up.
"Supply and demand" was another topic brought up during the chat. "You don’t see him doing interviews. He’s not everywhere this week. That is big. Not being able to access him only leads to more desire for seeing him and hearing him", Fortenbaugh added.
