Having been absent from last weekend's WWE live events due to suffering from a bout of food poisoning, it looks as if Drew McIntyre will be back on our screens this coming Friday.

As per Mike Johnson over at PWInsider, a WWE source confirmed to them that the Scottish Warrior is "figured into creative plans" for this week's blue brand offering. McIntyre is also expected to fully return to the road for live events this weekend, too.

Previously, it was reported that Drew was already feeling under the weather prior to last week's SmackDown. Still, the two-time WWE Champion powered through his sickness to appear on Smackers and continue his ongoing rivalry with Karrion Kross. There, Kross ended up putting McIntyre to sleep with his patented Kross Jacket following a (mildly botched) fireball attack from Scarlett Bordeaux.

Kross and McIntyre have butted heads from the moment Doomsday made his return to the company last month, with the former Killer's shocking return on the 5 August edition of SmackDown seeing him beat down the Scot while likewise putting Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on notice.

At WWE Extreme Rules on Saturday 8 October, Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross will do battle in a Strap Match.
