Braun Strowman Demanding HUGE Asking Price For Indie Dates
Big Braun is demanding big money from wrestling promoters following his WWE release.
Any independent promoter looking to book Braun Strowman following the big man's WWE release is going to need deep pockets.
As reported by PWInsider's Mike Johnson, indie promoters who have reached out about booking the former Universal Champion have been quoted a five-figure asking price. Strowman is said to be "set" financially, meaning he doesn't need to rush out and score a bunch of bookings, though this will change if a company pays the right price.
Strowman was released from WWE alongside Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Ruby Riott, Lana, and Santana Garrett on 2 June. Bound by a standard 90-day non-compete clause, he will be free to sign with and appear for other promotions from 31 August.
This high figure will likely price most (if not all) indie groups out of booking Strowman. Comfortably the biggest name let go by WWE year, the 37-year-old was on a contract worth a reported $1.2 million a year prior to his departure, with his bumper salary believed to be one of the reasons he was included in the company's latest run of "budget cuts".
Fightful Select had previously reported that while with WWE, Braun knew his value in negotiations. That appears to be the case on the indies as well.
