Amongst the most surprising names on the list was Brian 'Road Dogg' James, given his tenure as a WWE producer. James, who has been in and out of WWE since 1994, was cut more than 10 years after commencing his latest run in 2011, and he has since made his first public comments on his release.

Here's what he had to say (h/t Wrestling Inc.):-

“Guys, I’m doing well and I thank you for all the love. I’m gonna take a few days for my self and process this. God is still on the throne and will provide. It’s just business!"

James was brought back to WWE as a producer in October 2011. His role had evolved several times over the years, including a brief New Age Outlaws revival run with Billy Gunn in 2013 and 2014, with 2019 bringing a transition to the Performance Center.

As previously covered, WWE's NXT releases are being seen as the company getting key Triple H hires off the books, with Road Dogg one of The Game's closest associates.
