Chris Jericho Files Interesting New Trademark Application... (WWE News)
A recent bit of copyright news concerning Chris Jericho has fans talking about WWE again.
Fightful has noted Chris Jericho's recent bid to trademark "Cornerstone" for use in pro wrestling, and it has many fans talking about the chances of him jumping from AEW to WWE yet again. This is a story that just won't go away, people - a lot of folks fancy seeing 'Y2J' back on Raw or SmackDown.
There were heavy rumours that Jericho would wave goodbye to Tony Khan in time to pop up in January's Royal Rumble match over in Saudi Arabia, but that obviously didn't end up happening. Similarly, before the Rumble PLE, some figured he'd be the perfect candidate for a shock appearance on the anniversary special celebrating Raw landing on Netflix.
Again, didn't happen.
Arguably the wildest rumour was that Jericho would be in the giant crate spotlighted come Elimination Chamber on 28 February. Nope, that was Danhausen. The ex-AEW gimmick suffered a less-than-impressive introduction, but he's since gone on to shift a ton of merchandise and pop up in some charming backstage segments on TV.
Jericho's copyright filing concerns merch, so look out for a t-shirt with the "Cornerstone" slogan on it soon. Of course, this could be part of a reclaimed glory act on All Elite screens too. It certainly isn't impossible that Jericho is about to claim he's the bedrock of the entire company on Dynamite or Collision.
Those who want a nostalgia-fuelled WWE comeback will be hoping it's something to do with that instead.
