Having been absent from AEW programming since September, there's now an update on when Adam Copeland could be back in action.

Per Joey Votes of WrestleVotes Q&A Live on Fightful Select, the belief is that Copeland will be back by this year's Double or Nothing PPV.

This comes on the heels of reports that Double or Nothing 2026 will take place from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, although AEW has yet to confirm a location or a date for this year's DoN as of this writing. Date-wise, every previous Double or Nothing event has taken place over Memorial Weekend, which, if this year follows that same pattern, would likely have the 2026 PPV happening on 24 May.

If Double or Nothing 2026 does indeed take place from Louis Armstrong Stadium, Joey Votes said that, given how the event will likely hold 14,000-15,000 people, he'd expect Adam Copeland back in time for that PPV.

As alluded to, Cope hasn't been seen on AEW TV since the post-All Out episode of Dynamite on 24 September. There, he told Christian Cage that he was taking a step away from the ring as he "can't keep doing this" to his family, with the WWE Hall of Famer not sure if he'd ever return. That came hot on the heels of FTR attacking Beth Copeland/Phoenix at All Out after Cope and Christian had picked up a win over Dax and Cash, with that attack culminating in a spike piledriver on Beth.

In reality, Adam Copeland stepped away from AEW to work on Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and to shoot a role in the Jason Statham-fronted The Beekeeper 2. Christian Cage has likewise been off TV during this period, with zero information on the status of Captain Charisma.
