In 2014, Batista returned to World Wrestling Entertainment after four years away.

Despite winning the Royal Rumble and taking part in the main event of WrestleMania XXX, the return isn't remembered too fondly, with many criticizing his unwillingness to work house shows or put people over, and not to mention, that blue outfit.

The man himself made an appearance on former SmackDown writer Alex Greenfield's show on MLW Radio recently to clear the air about his much maligned six month run. Part one of the interview makes for a very interesting chat indeed, as The Animal goes into great detail documenting his difficulties and frustrations with the company.

Those frustrations started before Batista even returned, as he argued with WWE and Vince McMahon in particular about how he would be presented. Vince wanted Batista as a babyface, but Big Dave states that he knew this wasn't going to work, wanting to return as a heel instead. Batista recalls that he was outside Vince's office every day, and his return was something of a constant argument.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star also talks about his regrets from the run, stating that he wishes he was in better shape at the time. All in all there seems to be more regrets than positive memories, with Batista also being frustrated at The Shield breaking up the very night after Evolution made them like like "a million bucks". In his own words, Batista is still sour about the entire experience.

Batista and Greenfield also spoke about modern day crowds, Daniel Bryan, social media and learning to cut promos in the 45 minute chat. Head to mlwradio.com for the whole thing.
