Dog Collar Match Set For WWE TLC 2019?
Proposed Reigns vs. Corbin TLC might be altered.
Alongside a first-ever women's tag team TLC (just enough qualifiers to make it 'historic') and a grudge match between Rusev and Bobby Lashley, Minneapolis, Minnesota's Target Center recently began advertising that Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin will meet at TLC 2019 in an eponymous match.
According to Dave Meltzer, writing in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that stipulation is not set in stone. The journalist notes that the contest will definitely have a gimmick of some description, and that it could be a rarely seen dog collar match.
For those unfamiliar, a dog collar match is exactly as it sounds, with both participants leashed to one another round the neck by, well, dog collars. Ostensibly, the idea is to prevent a cowardly heel hightailing, but in this scenario, it'll be because Roman Reigns is called The Big Dog. WWE are that literal.
Had this feud played out last month, it would have been a Kennel from Hell match.
Meltzer also notes that the Rusev vs. Lashley bout was originally penciled in for the Survivor Series, but owing to the huge 15-man tag contests has been booted to TLC.
