Drew McIntyre's WWE Future Still Hangs In The Balance
Drew McIntyre contract update as WWE future speculation continues.
Drew McIntyre's future is amongst the biggest free agency questions WWE will need to answer in 2024, though the situation appears no closer to a resolution.
PWInsider's Mike Johnson stated, over the weekend, that he hadn't heard word of McIntyre and WWE agreeing on a new contract. This doesn't necessarily mean that it hasn't happened yet. But if it has, word clearly hadn't gotten out at the time of reporting.
McIntyre has long been understood to be working on a contract set to expire later in 2024. His deal is due to be up before WrestleMania 40 in April, presenting WWE with an interesting decision heading into the biggest event of the year.
The Wrestling Observer reported last May that McIntyre wanted certain creative assurances from WWE before signing a new deal. Recently, the Scot has been featured strongly on Raw, having turned heel to find a new lease of life in the main event scene. Last week's World Heavyweight Title defeat to Seth Rollins was his second his November, having fallen to Rollins at the Crown Jewel 2024 premium live event.
McIntyre has not yet declared for the upcoming 2024 Royal Rumble (27 January).
