Edge Takes Shot At CM Punk/MJF AEW Dynamite Segment On WWE Raw
Edge jabs back at AEW following MJF and CM Punk referencing The Miz last week.
CM Punk and MJF's in-ring segment on last week's episode of AEW Dynamite referenced a number of WWE wrestlers, including The Miz, whom Punk claimed his new rival was a "less famous" version of, knowingly calling on a frequent bad-faith criticism of AEW's fastest rising heel.
This drew an earned response from Edge, who reference the line on last night's episode of WWE Raw.
The veteran was making his first Raw appearance since being sent to the red brand in the 2021 WWE Draft. He was interrupted by The Miz (flanked by Maryse, who hasn't been on TV since April), leading, ultimately, to the heel bailing on Edge when he challenged him to a fight.
Edge's AEW reference was one of the spiciest lines in a segment that also referenced John Morrison's recent WWE release, with the 48-year-old saying the following:-
"You have people on other shows saying your name just to get a cheap reaction. You live rent-free in a lot of heads."
Neither Punk nor MJF have commented on the reference yet. Either way, it was one of the bigger talking points coming out of the night's most news-worthy segment.
