Dakota Kai's destiny was written in stone as soon as Raquel González surprisingly reached NXT's promised land before her. González' Women's Title triumph was a lovely moment that visibly meant the world to her, but Kai has been a stand out on the brand for years now, and her time is near.

That split between the pair was beautifully-handled. Now, the next logical step is having Dakota lead NXT into 2022 as the female face of the brand - she's ready for that, and there's a sense that González was always keeping the belt warm for her anyway.
