Every Original WWE NXT Black & Gold Roster Member - Where Are They Now?
10. Aiden English
What was he doing at the time?
Three years and just twenty matches into his entire wrestling career, Aiden English worked a dark match on one of the earliest NXTs, losing to rising star Bray Wyatt. He went from strength to strength in the black-and-gold era between then and a main roster call-up as one half of The Vaudvillains in 2016. Things fizzled somewhat, as did a relationship with Rusev that briefly got both men as over as they'd ever been full-stop, but by then English was already eyeing up what he could do next.
What is he doing now?
Seeing an opportunity when in-ring ones dried up, English took a chance at breaking into the announce booth via a stint on 205 Live, but the relative acclaim he received in the spot amounted to nothing when he was part of the brutal 2020 pandemic-era releases. The gamble proved worth it in the long run though, having since carved out a new run under his real name as the lead colour analyst for TNA alongside fellow former WWE announcer Tom "Phillips" Hannifan.
