Every Original WWE NXT Black & Gold Roster Member - Where Are They Now?

6. Rick Victor

What was he doing at the time?

Jobs. Rick Victor was a guy looking for an identity, a spot, and a purpose as a singles wrestler. Fate smiled on him in a way most unexpected when all of that came in the form of The Ascension. The losses to Bo Dallas, Richie Steamboat et al were rapidly forgotten when he joined a team that spent years, plural, not getting beat.

The good days couldn't last when the pair made it to the main roster, but very little of that felt like their fault. The old "creative has nothing for you" line used to get thrown around a lot, but it wasn't accurate with these. Creative had stuff, but most of it sucked. More's the pity - when the act peaked in NXT, few things up and down the card were as effective.

What is he doing now?

Konnor and Viktor were released from WWE in 2019, and after some tricky moments getting things going again as result of the pandemic, the pair eventually got back out there on the indies as The Awakening. Rebranding himself as Zyon for NWA Powerrr when the team wet their separate ways, he's worked shots for the company consistently for three years and has been credited for thriving as a bigger fish in a slightly smaller pond.
