2. Samoa Joe

Now it's time for the main event, and oh boy do we have a main eventer for you.

Following his heel turn in late 2015, Samoa Joe found himself once again challenging for the NXT Title at the company's biggest show of all time. No, he didn't win this time, but he would go on to hold the title a record-setting 3 times.

Joe's WWE run was bizarre though. He fluctuated between main event heel runs, midcard domination, and a weird stint as a commentator where he had to wear a poncho. The Samoan was then cut in 2022, with many expecting him to fade away. Instead, the 43-year-old Joe went on the run of a lifetime.

He returned to his spiritual home in Ring Of Honor, which allowed him to become a presence on AEW television around the same time. Joe has held the AEW World Title twice, main evented several pay-per-views, and reminded everybody just how damn good he is.

At time of writing, he's out with an injury (having held the top belt as recently as December 2025). He hasn't been anywhere near a poncho in a very long time though.
