Every WWE Royal Rumble's Best Performer

By Andrew Pollard /

2001 €“ Kane

Kane€™s 2001 Royal Rumble performance is the stuff of legend. In terms of how to utilize a monster in one of these matches, it€™s never been done better. The Big Red Machine entered in the #6 position, going on to last over 50 minutes as he made it to the final two before being bested by Steve Austin. The fact that Austin has gone on record countless times to say how he should€™ve called an audible in the ring and had Kane win, says how well-received the Devil€™s Favourite Demon was during his impressive 2001 outing. As well as some humorous moments with Drew Carey and later the Honky Tonk Man, Kane wasted no time in taking care of business, throwing a then-record 11 competitors over the top rope during his 53-minute stay. If ever there was a moment to really pull the trigger on Kane, this was it. Instead, he€™d end up battling Big Show and Raven for the Hardcore Title at WrestleMania XVII whilst Austin challenged for The Rock€™s WWF Championship.
