Bodyslam.net is reporting that Bill Goldberg is expected to appear on Monday's episode of WWE flagship show Raw and potentially resume his beef with new World Heavyweight Champion and mega-heel Gunther. PWInsider Elite then corroborated this report, and it also looks like the legendary star will become a regular fixture on TV over the next month or so too.

Goldberg and Gunther interacted on-screen for the first time back at Bad Blood in October 2024. There, Triple H announced the brand new Crown Jewel Championships, which Gunther arrogantly claimed he would win. That's when he noticed Bill sitting in the front row - the pair exchanged words, and Goldberg warned the Austrian with a quick: "You're next!".

It looks like those words will ring true come Monday's episode of Raw.

PWInsider confirmed that Goldberg has been following a strict (and intense) training regime for what's likely to be his last pro wrestling match ever, at least under WWE's banner. However, this robust training schedule has led to several injuries throughout that Bill has had to overcome/power through. Fingers crossed that doesn't knacker proceedings as and when he hits the ring for the final time.

Obviously, some of Goldberg's latest cluster of WWE matches varied in quality, so it'd likely be for the best if this one vs. Gunther was kept on the shorter side. Truthfully, that's when the ex-WCW squash match mauler is at his best, but there'd be no call for him to run straight through Gunther en route to another World Title in 2025. So, it'll be interesting to see how Triple H plays this one.

Goldberg's Last Match Could Take Place At SNME on 12 July

WWE

Both write-ups predict that Goldberg will become a key fixture on episodes of Raw over the next month or so before working his last WWE match come Saturday Night's Main Event on 12 July. That card takes place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, which would be a fitting way to call it a career for big Bill.

Atlanta is traditionally tied to WCW, and the company's Power Plant training facility was located in the city. That's where Goldberg literally learned the ropes before bursting on Nitro and becoming one of the biggest stars in the entire industry. He then jumped to WWE in 2003, left in 2004, and finally returned in 2016 to make up for a bogus first run with the promotion.

He's worked exactly 12 matches since, most of which have been for either the WWE Title or the old Universal prize. A match vs. Gunther would be his first for the newer version of WWE's World Heavyweight Championship.

It's worth saying that Goldberg vs. Gunther isn't 100% locked in for SNME on 12 July at time of writing, but most believe that'll be the plan. PWInsider also reported that Bill was originally scheduled to appear on this past Monday's edition of Raw before plans changed. That isn't the first time one of Goldberg's appearances on Raw has been scrapped this year.

Gunther is next after all, it seems.
