Goldberg's WWE Return No Longer Set For 27 January Raw (WWE News)
Goldberg isn't factoring into creative plans for WWE Raw on 27 January after all.
Goldberg is not scheduled to appear on Monday, 27 January's episode of WWE Raw in Atlanta, Georgia, despite reports to the contrary earlier this month.
Dr. Chris Featherstone reported on Thursday that Goldberg isn't booked for the show and doesn't factor into any creative plans for the broadcast.
"I've been informed that Bill Goldberg is not scheduled to appear on #WWERaw this coming Monday and is not in any creative plans for the show."
This runs contradictory to previous reporting from Dave Meltzer, who stated in a Wrestling Observer subscriber exclusive on 6 January that Goldberg was returning on Monday's show and was still a potential opponent for World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
WWE and Goldberg's plans may have changed in the time between the two reports. Regardless, we'll find out on Monday.
Goldberg, 58, is set to wrestle a retirement match for WWE later this year. The promotion confirmed as much on 2 November, writing:
Goldberg appeared on ESPN’s SEC Nation on Saturday, Nov. 2, and revealed that Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque granted his request for one more match. World Heavyweight Champion Gunther goaded the former World Champion during Bad Blood, forcing Goldberg to hop the barricade and try to confront The Ring General. Who will be next, and last, for the legendary Goldberg?
On 5 October 2024's Bad Blood premium live event, Goldberg and son Gage were goaded by Gunther, hinting at a potential match. This is yet to be followed up on.
Goldberg's last WWE match came against Roman Reigns on 19 February 2022.
