Yesterday brought positive ratings news for AEW Dynamite, with the figures holding up surprisingly well despite going down in an unfamiliar Saturday night timeslot, posting 18-49 demographic and overall viewership numbers in-line with the show's 2020 averages.

A considerable success, given the episode went down three days later than usual, faced direct competition from WWE's NXT TakeOver XXX special, and was delayed by 35 minutes due to an NBA overrun.

WarnerMedia and TNT executives were reportedly "extremely happy" with how the show ended up performing. Per a new story from PWInsider, the group was delighted that Dynamite's Wednesday night audience followed the show to Saturday, particularly as it allowed TNT to score three of the top five rated cable shows on the night, with AEW finishing fifth.

It was reported last week that AEW's network is thrilled with how Dynamite has performed thus far, regarding the wrestling product a "prime property." The show's last eight episodes have finished in at least the top 10 for the night. Some, like Saturday's, have broken the top five.

Dynamite airs on Thursday this week but will run opposed on 2 September, with WWE NXT switching to Tuesday 1 September.
