Deonna Purrazzo, the reigning Knockouts Champion of IMPACT Wrestling, made her debut for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide at their 2021 Rey de Reyes event over the weekend.

'The Virtuosa' didn't actually compete at the event, however, she did provide commentary for the night's Reina de Reinas Championship match. Faby Apache would lift the title that had been vacated when Franky Monet - then Taya Valkyrie - signed with WWE. Apache defeated Chik Tormenta, Flammer, Lady Maravilla, Lady Shani, and Sexy Star - played by a new wrestler - to become champion.

The real news came post-match. Purrazzo confronted Apache post-match and challenged her to a title vs. title bout at this year's Triplemania 29 event, which is yet to receive an official date. Deonna ended her appearance by laying out the four-time Reina de Reinas Champion.

News of the challenge came on the same show as Andrade challenging Kenny Omega - the current IMPACT World Champion - to a match on the same show for the AAA Mega Championship.

It had been previously reported that IMPACT were looking at bringing in some Mexican talents, with AAA World Trios Champion El Hijo del Vikingo being pinpointed as one of those names. With these challenges in mind, all signs are pointing to a fully-fledged working relationship between IMPACT and AAA.
