Report: IMPACT Wrestling Looking To Bring In More International Talent
El Hijo del Vikingo, amongst other Mexican talents, could be on his way back to IMPACT Wrestling.
IMPACT Wrestling are reportedly looking to bring in more international talents, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
When discussing the possibility of where last week's Black Thursday WWE releases will end up, Meltzer mentioned the following:-
Many of the talent cut should be able to hook up with ROH, New Japan (maybe not right away), IMPACT or AEW and one would think even if they couldn't get a major contract, all would be welcome in MLW or NWA. In particular, with IMPACT looking at expansion and ROH trying to do a women's division.
More specifically, Dave also noted how IMPACT are looking into adding some Mexican talent to their roster; El Hijo del Vikingo of AAA fame was mentioned by name.
IMPACT currently have a working relationship with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, the second-largest wrestling promotion in Mexico following Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. This has previously seen the likes of Daga, Dr. Wagner Jr., and, currently, Decay's Black Taurus wrestle for IMPACT.
The aforementioned El Hijo del Vikingo has also wrestled for IMPACT already to great avail; his bouts in early 2020 vs. Josh Alexander and vs. TJP particularly stand out.
