Having been out of action for nearly five months, it appears Kofi Kingston may soon be lacing up his boots once again.

Speaking during a Q&A session at Fightful Select (via WrestlingNews.co), Sean Ross Sapp noted how Kingston isn't too far off returning to the ring.

When asked about the status of Kofi and his New Day cohort Big E, Sapp detailed:

“I was told that Kofi wasn't supposed to be that far off [from returning], but that was a week or two ago, I believe.”

As for Big E, Sapp was unsure whether the hugely charismatic powerhouse would ever be back in action.

For Kofi, he's been on the sidelines since suffering an ankle injury on the 2 March episode of SmackDown. There, the one-time WWE Champion was injured after Drew McIntyre landed on him following the Scottish Warrior performing a dive to the outside of the ring.

Where Big E is concerned, he suffered a broken neck in a SmackDown tag match back in March of last year. While E stated earlier this month how he "feels great", there is also obviously a huge amount of uncertainty over his in-ring career after a situation that scarily could've resulted in paralysis or even death.

In regards to the one healthy member of the New Day, Xavier Woods has been absent from WWE TV since a loss to Dominik Mysterio on the 15 May episode of Raw.
