HUGE Rumor Killer On Jade Cargill's Backstage WWE "Heat" (WWE News)
New update on Jade Cargill's social media barbs with Rhea Ripley, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven.
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer believes that Jade Cargill's ongoing WWE Twitter/X spats with Rhea Ripley, Chelsea Green, and Piper Niven are a work.
Cargill had drawn attention for seemingly breaking the fourth wall in interactions with Ripley (Jade's WrestleMania 42 opponent after Elimination Chamber 2026) this week. This led to other kayfabe-blurring exchanges with Green and Niven, generating fan speculation on whether it was a work or legitimate.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer stated: "They're trying to make out like it's a shoot and they're gonna really fight at this show."
"It's just an attempt," he added. "An attempt to get some heat for the match."
Meltzer stated, too, that some of the things being tweeted are "identical" to a "prevailing viewpoint among people and talent." Green and Niven, Meltzer noted, wouldn't "bury someone on their own team in public," as they aren't allowed to do that. But they are using many people's thoughts as part of the angle.
Ripley announced the end of her RHIYO tag team with Iyo Sky on this week's WWE Raw. The 2026 women's Elimination Chamber is heading to SmackDown to challenge Cargill, the reigning WWE Women's Champion. The two will contest the title at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on 18 or 19 April 2026.
Ripley and Cargill should be involved in a face-to-face segment on SmackDown this Friday (7 March). Last year's WWE Women's Championship program for WrestleMania was punctuated by several off-script "shoot" promos between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair, blurring the lines between fiction and reality.
