While the biggest news today is clearly WWE moving to Netflix in January 2025, today also brings word that Kevin Patrick will no longer be a part of the SmackDown commentary team.

Originally reported by SES Scoops' Aaron Varble and since likewise noted by Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Patrick's time at the blue brand's announce desk is over. As of this writing, there's no word on who will replace the Irishman on SmackDown, where he had previously been working alongside Corey Graves.

Of course, last August saw Patrick and Graves joined by Michael Cole on SmackDown as part of a shake-up. Reports suggested this was done in order to have KP learn from Cole and to help him grow as a commentator. While Michael Cole was pulling double-duty on both Raw and SmackDown at that point, another change-up at the turn of 2024 saw Cole dropped from SmackDown, with WWE then keen for Kevin Patrick to step up his play-by-play game.

What this means for Patrick's future in WWE remains to be seen, with him previously having been used as a backstage interviewer, panel show host, and more since joining the company in 2021.
