Kurt Angle To WWE: 7 Great Potential Matches For His Return

By John Canton /

5. Triple H

Angle recently mentioned that guys like The Undertaker, The Rock and Triple H were very instrumental in terms of helping him in that first year in WWE (2000) where he got the big push. Since The Undertaker and The Rock may not wrestle any more matches it doesn't seem likely that either would face Angle. As for Triple H, it's definitely a possibility. It's been fun to see Triple H involved in the storylines as a heel owner. When he was straddling the fence and not embracing the heel role for all those months it was pretty boring, but when he went full heel against Daniel Bryan it was perfect timing. Fans want to see him get his ass kicked now. Of course, he's always been booked strong and has a lot of credibility, so that's something that will keep him relevant even when he wrestles as a part timer. What hurts the chances of the match is that it seems like Triple H is more interested in wrestling against younger talent like Daniel Bryan and likely Roman Reigns instead of a guy like Angle. For the sake of nostalgia, it would be fun to see them go at it one more time just to see if their chemistry is still there. Some fans may groan at the idea of a Triple H match against Angle, but it's been so long and both guys are still good that most likely it will be welcomed by the average fan.
