Latest On Triple H Trying To Re-Sign Former WWE NXT Favourite
Update on reported WWE interest in this former NXT title-holder.
Fightful Select has this week corroborated Andrew Zarian's report that Paul 'Triple H' Levesque is interested in bringing the wrestler formerly known as Bronson Reed back to WWE.
Zarian stated last week that Reed, who currently wrestles as JONAH, had attracted interest for his talent and recent showings in NJPW's G1 Climax tournament. Whether or not the two parties had entered negotiations was unclear, however.
Fightful report similar, noting that there's no word on whether or not the situation has progressed beyond general interest.
Reed, 34, was one of the most surprising WWE releases of 2021, with the promotion letting him go alongside a host of other NXT names on 6 August. This came little over a month after his reign as NXT North American Champion, which ended by Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott's hand on 29 June.
The Australian has since stayed active for such promotions as New Japan Pro Wrestling and IMPACT Wrestling, working with the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, and Josh Alexander. JONAH stated in December 2021 that he wasn't signed to an exclusive NJPW contract. If this is still the case, there wouldn't be much stopping WWE from signing him immediately.
