Loud AEW & "This Is Awful" Chants Dominate Last Night's WWE Raw

Monday Night Raw's first hour was an absolute mess.

All Elite Wrestling hit an almighty home run with Saturday night's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view, and while quality is subjective, it looks like the show's objective impact is already creeping into WWE's televised universe.

Last night's Raw brought loud "AEW!" chants during Sami Zayn's appearance on Corey Graves' new Electric Chair Q&A segment. It came when the former 'Underdog From The Underground' said: "I'd much rather hold all of you accountable for your crap. Quite frankly, you could ask me anything. You could have asked me about AEW!"

This prompted the audience to break into the chants, though Graves did a good job of changing the subject immediately after.

The "AEW" calls weren't the only rogue chants throughout the night, as the dreaded "this is awful!" emerged during Shane McMahon's "match" with Lance Anao'i - and understandably so. Raw's first hour was turgid. Brock Lesnar's boombox briefcase aside, the content was diabolical, and it took 53 minutes before we got some in-ring action. Even then, said in-ring action involved a 49-year-old billionaire's son who calls himself 'Best In The World.'

Here's hoping that this latest embarrassment gives WWE's creative team a much-needed boot jolt of inspiration.
