The former Universal Champion will be in Kansas City, Missouri for next week's episode of Raw. When he comes back, he will be doing so for the first time since June 2021, when he was released as one of WWE's many pandemic-related "budget cuts."

Fightful Select reported recently that Strowman was amongst the names WWE had discussed for a potential comeback. "People of influence" within the promotion refused to confirm or deny the speculation at the time, leaving a question mark hanging over Braun's future. Now, the 38-year-old's WWE return is all but confirmed.

Strowman has worked only a handful of matches under his real name, Adam Scherr, since leaving WWE last year. He has been best known for his affiliation with the EC3-helmed Control Your Narrative project over the past year, though this appeared to have ground to a halt before re-emerging in the NWA last week.

Braun was Universal Champion between March and August 2020, eventually dropping the strap to Bray Wyatt's Fiend character. His last ever bout for the promotion was a WWE Championship shot against Drew McIntyre and champion Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash 2021.
