After plentiful speculation in recent weeks, MJF made his long-awaited AEW return on last night's Dynamite. And not just that, but the Salt of the Earth immediately put himself back into the AEW World Title picture in a major way.

That return came about during a contract signing between AEW World Champion Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and 'Hangman' Adam Page, with those three set for a triple-threat match at Worlds End later this month. However, that triple-threat has now become a four-way, as the contract signing was interrupted by MJF, who announced that he was using his Casino Gauntlet contract to add himself to that Worlds End contest.

In typical Max fashion, he ran down all three of his Worlds End opponents, saying how he wanted to prove to Page that he wasn't a coward, and that he wanted Hanger to be the one he beats at Worlds End; mocked "Sloppy" Joe and called back to Joe beating MJF for the AEW World Title at Worlds End 2023; and took a shot at Swerve's WWE run, in addition to comparing Strickland to disgraced rapper P. Diddy.

This was MJF's first AEW appearance since losing to Mark Briscoe at All Out back in September, with Friedman having been shooting Tommy Wirkola's David Harbour-headlined Violent Night 2 in Winnipeg, Canada. That film wrapped last month, and recent rumblings claimed Max was being factored into creative plans for Worlds End, and now we know exactly what those plans are.

From Chicago's NOW Arena, AEW Worlds End takes place on Saturday, 27 November.
