More Details On Guevara Vs. Andrade Backstage AEW Fight
What exactly happened when Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo got heated at AEW Dynamite?
Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo were involved in a backstage fight during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, resulting in Andrade being sent home and pulled from a planned Rampage match with Dark Order's 10 scheduled for this Friday. Guevara, meanwhile, remained on the card, teaming with Chris Jericho against Bryan Danielson and Daniel Garcia in the main event.
Fightful Select reports that the majority of the accounts the outlet has heard from the scrap paint Andrade, not Guevara, as the aggressor. Sammy made reported attempts to not get involved in a fight. This may explain why he, unlike his opposite number, wasn't pulled from the show.
The report stresses, however, that varying accounts have brought different details to the table.
Per Fightful, Andrade wanted to see Guevara upon arriving at the arena. El Idolo threw a few punches before the fight was broken up. Prior to this, he and Sammy had been warned not to fight, leading to assurances from the wrestlers. Fightful's report follows a similar one from the Wrestling Observer stating that Guevara and Sammy were spoken to on Tuesday.
Interestingly, the new Fightful report states that while initial accounts of the fight stated Guevara had shoved Andrade, this detail was more aligned with El Idolo's side of the story.
