More WWE Departures Coming Soon? (WWE News)
Santos Escobar passed on a new WWE contract offer. Are more releases coming?
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp fired out an interesting post via X that seemed to suggest that WWE releases won't stop here. He pointed out that the likes of Karrion Kross, NXT's Jazmyn Nyx and Santos Escobar had decided to "all pass on WWE offers in the last few months". That marks an interesting trend of pro wrestlers backing themselves to either work elsewhere in the industry or make more cash doing something else.
Escobar is the latest to depart. His deal with the company lapsed recently, and he'll surely be showing up elsewhere in the biz sooner rather than later. In their own write up on the situation, Fightful Select noted that the former Legado Del Fantasma leader is "expected to be in demand" shortly.
In his post, Sean Ross Sapp closed with the line: "There might be more coming too...".
Of course, he knows exactly what he's doing here. That's building tension and anticipation amongst the pro wrestling masses - they'll be hungry for further updates on WWE releases, although it's fair to say that nobody's exactly thrilled should somebody lose their gig unexpectedly. The compelling thing about the names Ross Sapp mentioned is that they all had some say in the matter and left WWE through choice.
It's unclear whether Sean has received concrete word from behind the scenes about more departures, or if he's just playing a guessing game. It does, however, look likely that more workers will be waving goodbye to Triple H's league over the coming weeks and months.
Just who could it be?! That's the question which will be on everyone's lips.
