With Riho revealing earlier this week that she's currently in Japan to recover from a broken collarbone, there's now an update on how long the inaugural AEW Women's Champion is expected to be out of action.

As per Wrestling Observer Radio, the belief is that Riho is set for three months on the sidelines as a result of this injury.

While it has yet to be formally confirmed when exactly Riho suffered this injury, the general consensus is that it occurred during her Battle in the Belts match against current AEW Women's Champion Britt Baker on 8 January. The Japanese star finished that contest without any real indication that she was hurt, but her recent Twitter post confirmed that, yes, she had broken her collarbone during this bout - and the Wrestling Observer added the injury happened relatively early into the match.

In terms of that match itself, Riho was defeated by Baker, with D.M.D. picking up the victory thanks to her Lockjaw submission. Prior to this, Riho earned her shot at Baker's prize be besting the Role Model in a non-title offering on the Black Friday episode of AEW Rampage back in November.
