New Details On Jinder Mahal's WWE Return & New Faction
An update on Jinder Mahal, his WWE comeback, and his new allies.
As reported earlier this week, Jinder Mahal returned to WWE at Monday's Main Event tapings, defeating Jeff Hardy in his first match for the company since re-emerging at Superstar Spectacle in January.
Mahal was joined by Indus Sher's Rinku Singh but not his tag team partner, Saurav Gurjar, as was originally reported. Dilsher Shanky completed the trio instead, posing with his new allies after Jinder had felled Hardy.
The episode of Main Event in question aired last night. Singh has been rechristened Veer, Dilsher now being referred to solely by his surname.
WWE filed for a trademark application on "Veer" on 3 May:-
“VEER™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of wrestling via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of wrestling information.”
There is currently no word on why WWE debuted Mahal's new faction on Main Event rather than Raw or SmackDown, or what the company's plans are for the group going forward.
Superstar Spectacle was the first time Mahal had wrestled since May 2020, when he suffered a serious knee injury. Veer and Shanky hadn't been seen since that show either.
