As reported earlier this week, the NXT TakeOver: San Jose event originally scheduled for the weekend of 8 June was moved in order to avoid a clash with WWE's next big Saudi Arabian event. It was suggested that a replacement show would be announced during last night's TV tapings, and that proved to be the case, with WWE revealing a 1 June TakeOver in a still-to-be-determined city.

As well as confirming the event, the tapings brought two official match announcements. The first sees Johnny Gargano defending his NXT Championship against the man he defeated to capture the gold in New York, Adam Cole. There's no word on whether or not a stipulation will be attached to this.

New Raw stars The Viking Raiders vacated their NXT Tag Team Titles at the tapings, so the Street Profits, Forgotten Sons, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, and Undisputed Era pairing of Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish will contest the vacant straps, possibly in a ladder match.
