6. Scott Steiner (vs. Triple H) - Royal Rumble 2003
Scott Steiner was another huge name in the dying days of WCW, one who fans would have loved to see make the switch when the company went under. WWE didn't want to pay off his contract with Time Warner however, so Steiner sat at home collecting a bumper paycheck. By late-2002, that contract had expired, and it was time for the former WCW World Champion to go back to work. Booked as a top star right from the get-go, Steiner was positioned against Triple H, entering into a power struggle over the World Heavyweight Championship. It was all a bit strange seeing guys like Steiner in WWE, fighting a Triple H who was accompanied by Ric Flair, over a belt which heavily-resembled the WCW World Title. Having their first big encounter at the Royal Rumble in 2003, both men would struggle to create anything memorable, going for close to 20 minutes but never really hitting their stride. It was an auspicious start for Steiner, and following another eerily-similar effort at No Way Out the following month, the ex-WCW star began falling down the card. Never again would he come close to the main event scene in WWE.
