7. Steve Austin vs. Triple H vs. The Undertaker (No Mercy, 1999)
In 1999, the then-WWF produced 2 events called 'No Mercy'. The first took place in May, filmed at the Manchester Evening News Arena in England. Later, In October, the company presented another No Mercy, this time taking place live in North America. The under card of the first event was relatively poor, aside from a decent match between X-Pac and Shane McMahon. Mankind also worked wonders with Billy Gunn, whom the WWF were preparing for a top line as 'King Of The Ring'. In the main event position, there was an 'Anything Goes' Triple Threat battle between Steve Austin, Triple H and The Undertaker. The latter 2 wrestlers were gunning for Austin's WWF Heavyweight Title. Just like many other UK-only shows, the title didn't change hands. Thankfully, fans were still treated to a fine match. As the action roared towards the finish, everyone from Kane and Mankind, to The Brood and X-Pac interfered. This led to a win for Austin, who pinned Triple H. It's often been said that the 'Attitude Era' was chaotic, and this match was representative of that argument. Even so, it's hard to deny that it was a whirlwind of exciting false finishes and interference.
