Eurgh, where to start. Well, I might as well start with the only positive thing that came out of this match, which was the glorious video package on The Miz beforehand. From then on, this was a mess. Miz was WWE Champion going into the bout, and although he still hangs his hat on being in the main event of WrestleMania today (as he should) it is undeniable that he was the third most important person in a two man championship match. This match, the biggest match of the year at the biggest show of the year served one purpose. That purpose was to start the build to the biggest match of next year at the biggest show of next year. It showed a remarkable amount of insecurity from WWE, and showed once again that making new stars wasn't something really interested them. The match initially ends in a double count-out just 14 minutes in, before The Rock somehow gains the power to re-start matches. One Rock Bottom later The Miz retains the belt, but nobody cares because John Cena vs. The Rock is on.
