Cena's first WrestleMania match was also his first singles championship win in the company, defeating Big Show for the United States Championship at WrestleMania XX. Cena was still the Doctor of Thuganomics at this time, and the crowd were solidly behind him. This match opened the show, a wise choice as it got the crowd fired up early on in what would be a long, long show. In 2016 the idea of John Cena vs. Big Show would induce all manner of groans, but back in 2004 it was still a fairly fresh match. As an audience we hadn't been overwhelmed with LOL CENA WINS either, and as a result this match is perfectly watchable. Is it good? No, it certainly isn't, but it existed for a purpose and didn't come with any of the awful booking of the previous two matches listed. This match happened and it was fine. There isn't really much else to say.
