2. The Montreal Screwjob Was A Work

Let's start with the pros to this insane conspiracy theory that has been in the ether longer than Reddit has existed. Vince McMahon and Bret Hart were both born into the wrestling business, and whatever you think of either man, pro wrestling is their life's work and biggest passion. They lived through the eras where breaking kayfabe was something that would end with you being put in the hospital, and both Hart and McMahon know exactly what makes fans tick.

Boil all of this up, and it's conceivable that the biggest wrestling story of the 20th century is a work. But, come on, really?! Bret Hart looked like a man who had had his heart shattered into a million pieces every time he appeared on WCW Nitro and Thunder. 

Add to this that every interview Bret has given over the years has dripped with sincerity about how hurt he was over McMahon going back on the WWE contract The Hitman signed, and things don't add up quite as much. Vince and Bret are two of the most naturally emotional men to have graced pro wrestling, and the idea that both were Academy Award-standard actors, playing out a public hatred of one another in the name of maintaining the sanctity of kayfabe and a world-altering storyline, is really, really, really difficult to believe.
