Charlotte Flair is taking time away from WWE to get married to her partner, AEW's Andrade El Idolo.

This is according to Dave Meltzer, who, on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, reported this as the reason for Flair's WrestleMania Backlash 2022 write-off.

Flair dropped her SmackDown Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey at last night's premium live event. In a gnarly finish, Rousey forced Charlotte to say "I quit!" after extending her arm in a chair-assisted armbar, "breaking" it in kayfabe, with WWE acknowledging Flair's "fractured radius" in a post-match segment.

Later, Fightful Select confirmed that the injury was a work - and a way for WWE to facilitate Flair's time off.

Flair and Andrade have been engaged since January 2020. A couple since February 2019, the duo unfollowing each other on social media in late 2021 bred speculation that they had split up, though this talk was quickly rubbished by the couple themselves and others with knowledge of the situation.

In April, Charlotte told combat sports reporter Ariel Helwani that she and Andrade were getting married in Mexico sometime this summer. Congratulations to the happy couple when the time comes.
