Charlotte Flair sustained a storyline injury during her SmackDown Women's Championship "I Quit" match against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash.

Flair lost her title to Rousey after quitting while locked in a steel-chair assisted armbar, ending her latest title reign at just shy of 200 days. The match itself was a rematch from Mania, where Charlotte managed to escape with her title when the referee was knocked out and missed her tapping out.

But now it appears like we won't be seeing a third installment of this matchup for quite some time. After the match, WWE reported that Charlotte had sustained a fractured radius (one of the two long bones in her forearm).

Fightful Select reports that the storyline injury was written to give Flair some time off, though there is no indication of how long she will be out, or whether the absence will begin immediately or come after another appearance or two. Charlotte has been wrestling pretty consistently on WWE since returning in December 2020 to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship with Asuka.

With Flair out of action for an undetermined amount of time, Rousey will need a new challenger, so expect that storyline to get jump-started on SmackDown this week.
