WWE has decided to move this year's Money In The Bank PLE for a second time. Now, the event takes place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on 10 October, which is a shift from the prior 6 September date. That, rather bizarrely, was already a change: MITB 2026 was originally pencilled in for 29 August.

There's also a change of week day - 6 Sept is a Sunday, but 10 October is a Saturday.

Now, Fightful Select is reporting why this change was made yet again. According to their write up, WWE/TKO made the call due to "a scheduling matter with broadcast partners". They've been aware of it internally for around a month now, but things are just leaking out to the public.

Further, officials in the New Orleans area alerted the company that "things connected to the city would drive up a lot of prices for attendees in early September". Thus, the decision was taken to postpone Money In The Bank for another month so WWE has a clear run at business in Louisiana.

There was also the not-so-small matter of possible travel issues across Labor Day weekend.

2026 marks the first time that MITB takes place outside the typical May-July summer window. That scheduling previously helped tie it in with build towards SummerSlam, but that won't be the case this year. Instead, WWE may use both briefcases as a means to carry booking through the final few months before Royal Rumble-WrestleMania 43 season starts in early-2027.

Both the King and Queen Of The Ring tournaments are precursors to SummerSlam. They'll peak at Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia on 27 June.
