Having previously dismissed the prospect of working for AEW in particular, the Olympian revealed that the Tony Khan-helmed promotion wanted to bring him in for a run. He ended up turning this down because physically, he doesn't feel he is capable of performing at his old levels, though he was flattered by the offer.

As far as IMPACT goes, Angle stated that he had been approached to work a "one shot deal," though he never considered accepting, despite his previous run with the company.

Angle previously worked with IMPACT during its TNA days, signing with the group in 2006 and sticking around until 2016. He was an important, franchise-leading figure for what was then America's second-biggest promotion for a long time, but returned to WWE for his Hall of Fame induction run in 2017.

Let go by WWE as part of its first round of COVID-19 budget cuts in April 2020, Kurt has gone into detail on the harrowing toll wrestling has taken on his body several times since retiring.
