This was the big man's first wrestling appearance since late 2019. Pulled from a WrestlePro event following a backstage incident involving AEW's Joey Janela and promoter Pat Buck, this led to Cass taking a hiatus. The seven-footer had previously opened up on his battles with mental health issues.

Amore was released from WWE in January 2018. This was a result of sexual assault allegations made against him in October 2017, which Enzo reportedly failed to inform WWE of, though the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence in May 2018. Cass, meanwhile, was with WWE until that June, with the promotion letting him go for behavioural issues.
