As things stand, roughly seven hours out from bell time, MJF vs. Wardlow is still on the lineup for AEW Double or Nothing 2022.

This is according to Figure Four Online/The Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez:-

This follows a day of complex chaos for All Elite Wrestling and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, whose frustration at his contractual status with the promotion jumped from a medium to long-term problem to a right now problem when he no-showed an AEW Fan Fest on Saturday. It has since been reported that a flight out of Las Vegas, Nevada was booked in Friedman's name that evening, though it is understood he wasn't on board when it took off.

Nonetheless, the past 24 hours have brought MJF's Double or Nothing status into question. That the company deleted a (likely pre-scheduled) tweet advertising the bout within seconds of posting it earlier today only heightened this.

MJF is due to face Wardlow in a high-stakes match generally considered the best-built on the Double or Nothing lineup. Per the stipulation, a Wardlow win would free him of his obligations to MJF and allow him to sign a storyline contract with AEW, while an MJF win would prevent Wardlow from ever signing directly with the company.

We will bring you more details on this developing story as they emerge.
