After Paul 'Triple H' Levesque brought Karrion Kross and Scarlett back to WWE on last week's SmackDown, it has been reported that the company's new creative lead was "dismayed" by Kross' prior handling on the main roster.

Fightful Select state that Levesque, who was already a known Kross/Scarlett supporter, was no fan of how Karrion was presented on Raw following his elevation under now-former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon in July 2021. This panned run involved a four-minute debut loss to Jeff Hardy, Scarlett's removal as the former NXT Champion's manager, and derided Demolition Lite attire.

Kross, too, was seemingly unhappy with how that run went. Released by WWE in November 2021, he was reportedly "adamant" that Scarlett remained part of his act when working outwith the market leaders, not wanting his presentation to suffer the way it did in WWE. So committed to this was Kross that he turned down an opportunity to face Wardlow in AEW.

Fightful's report also effectively corroborates that of PWInsider's Mike Johnson, who stated earlier today that Kross was now listed as SmackDown's number two heel behind Roman Reigns.

Attacking Drew McIntyre and confronting Reigns in his SmackDown debut angle suggests Kross is on the verge of a big push following his WWE return. The 37-year-old and Scarlett will be hoping that his presentation is more in-line with how he was booked in NXT, where he was a near-unstoppable force with Triple H at the helm.
