William Regal is suffering from health issues "far more serious than have ever come out," according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The new All Elite Wrestling signing, who debuted at Revolution 2022 last weekend, has recorded an interview for Talk Is Jericho covering the matter. This is due to go out next week, though Chris Jericho is yet to specify a date.

This sad situation follows a promo Regal cut on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. Speaking after his new charges Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson had defeated The Workhorsemen, Regal not only tied his links to the duo together in kayfabe, but spoke of "not having long left", leading to understandable concern.

Coming out of this, it was easy to assume that Regal was referencing his struggles with addiction. The 53-year-old has never been shy of speaking on these matters in the past, so it was an easy line to draw. In addition, Regal was diagnosed with a heart defect in 2003, undergoing treatment for a condition that made the right side of his heart beat out of sequence with the left.

Yesterday, Regal used Twitter to apologise for his Dynamite promo's "time issues", saying he wanted to be transparent with his new colleagues.
