Report: WWE Deemed Sasha Banks Unworthy Of Becky Lynch/Charlotte Flair-Level Money
New report suggests WWE believed Sasha Banks had "peaked as a star" in the company.
Outgoing WWE star Sasha Banks reportedly sought a salary in-line with those commanded by Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair during negotiations earlier this year, though WWE seemingly deemed her unworthy of this.
Dave Meltzer reports as much in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Noting that some of WWE's women wrestlers earn over $1 million annually, Meltzer stated that Banks was asking for something similar to Lynch and Flair, which WWE never came close to matching during contract talks this summer.
WWE sees Banks as somebody who has already "peaked as a star," per the report. The company doesn't believe she will be on top for the next five years, but views her as a wrestler who could at least be called upon for a singles or tag team title run.
Although WWE is yet to officially confirm anything, it is likely that Banks has already left the promotion. Fightful Select reported this week that Sasha's WWE exit negotiations took place several months ago. In June, Wrestling Inc.'s Raj Giri had reported that the multi-time Women's Champion was out of the promotion completely.
Banks is currently set to appear for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on 4 January, which will be her first wrestling appearance since she and Naomi walked out of a WWE Raw show in May.
