The 21-year-old was confirmed for Monday nights as the 2021 WWE Draft wrapped last night. WWE officials Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce announced Steveson as a Raw wrestler in the evening's sixth round of picks, putting him at number 23 overall on the evening.

Fightful Select had broken the news that Steveson was heading for the main roster prior to last night's show, noting that the Olympian was listed on WWE's internal draft boards and other documents.

Steveson was first introduced to WWE fans at SummerSlam 2021 (21 August), where he was presented alongside fellow Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Tamyra Mensah-Stock. This came just two weeks after his defeat of Georgia's Geno Petriashvili to claim gold in the men's 125 kg freestyle wrestling division.

A fortnight later, Steveson's WWE signing was formally announced, with ESPN noting that Gable would remain at the University of Minnesota to complete his senior year while training for his career in professional wrestling. WWE reportedly has huge plans for the 22-year-old, who is already being linked to a passing-of-the-torch match with Brock Lesnar at a future WrestleMania.
