All Elite Wrestling has signed IMPACT Wrestling veteran Sonjay Dutt as a producer.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson broke the news on Wednesday evening, noting that Dutt has signed a full-time deal with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion. The former X Division Champion, whose TNA/IMPACT tenure lasted around 10 years over three runs with the company, was backstage at last night's episode of Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida.

This comes just 24 hours after Dutt left his role as a WWE producer. It was stated at the time that this was Sonjay's own decision, rather than him falling victim to WWE's latest round of cuts. The 39-year-old had been with the world's biggest wrestling promotion since January 2019.

Dutt hasn't yet commented on leaving WWE or joining AEW.

The Mumbai-born veteran brings considerable experience to the table, having started his professional wrestling career in 2000, getting his big break through MLW three years later. Signed to TNA in October 2003, he became a mainstay, though he dipped in and out during the 2010s before returning for one final run in 2017.

A torn Achilles ultimately put an end to Sonjay's in-ring career in 2018, when he stepped away to undergo surgery.
